Message-ID: <99d35d20805071525u3e7f0cf4p607efc709b0f68af@mail.gmail.com> The second annual Tulsa Master Gardeners Showcase Garden Tour is on June 21 and June 22 this year. The event has been changed to a two day time period, to give people more time to see all gardens, and ask questions. Advance tickets are now on sale for a reduced fee of only $5.00, with a fee of $8.00 on the event day. Tickets can be purchased from Master Gardeners, as well as at the Extension Center on 15th street. I can bring tickets to a TBC ride, or the FreeWheel packet stuffing party -- Moni Neville 7310 S. It is July 15 starting at Skiatook Lake with the swim start at 8:00 a.m. Some of my TBCer buddies have helped at Tri's and Du's in the past and, as a racer, I appreciate these volunteers' willingness to help. For example, it was VERY reassuring to have an experienced bicyclist at what I call the "Chinese Fire-Drill" corner in Claremore at the Spring Fever tri last month! This year the Tulsa Tri will be in two stages (two transition areas) to end up with the run leg along the west bank of the Arkansas River in Tulsa. It is being produced by Fleet Feet this year, not Tulsa Area Triathletes. Therefore Tim Dreiling of Fleet Feet, (who has a stable of running-minded volunteers at his disposal), could certainly use some bicycle-knowledgeable people to help. Tulsa Area Triathletes are consulting him on his first venture into triathlon race production. I will be volunteering this year at this race since I will be racing another Oly distance tri June 1. I would love to have your help too! We can use adults at bike route intersections, older kids at the water stop on bike course, and general help in the transition areas. So: 1) Volunteers needed, pretty please with Splenda or sugar on top 2) Or, come on out to watch the insanity. er, I mean, the fun! 3) I hope to reciprocate by volunteering at bike events. 4) I think volunteers get a shirt. The logo this year is pretty cool. INFO ON RACE: www.okrunner.com My cell phone: 625-5200 Many thanks! The open shift is from 5:00 until 6:30 on Friday, June 13 although if that date or time does not work for you I may be able to get one of the other volunteers to switch shifts. If you are going on FreeWheel and haven't volunteered to help in some capacity (or even if you have), this is a chance to help keep FreeWheel rolling down the road. Amble through lovely farm country, past Amish farms on low traffic county roads; stop in at the Amish Buffet in Chouteau Oklahoma. Choose either a 30 or 50 mile route. If not the Amish Buffet then, back in Inola, Walker's Family Restaurant has awesome barbeque. I think I'd prefer at least one of our sessions to be taught by an LCI person. How do I go about finding a bike instructor in the area? I do not have dates etc at all. But the Tulsa Duathlon is July 27. I also have a certified tri coach who may be able to help. But I really want an LCI to help one session. You can email me off the list serve. I am mostly interested in one official class by some one who has the credentials. I have a published training program for taking the runner to a short course Du already.
