Is that ride starting up this Wednesday? I thought about trying to organize
a Saturday morning or Sunday afternoon ride from Baileys or Whirlpool. I
have a route that’s about 45miles that goes out to Skiatook Lake and back
via Lake Road. It’s definitely not short on climbs and descents. With the
OPT there it makes it nice being able to avoid the busier roads. There are 2
or 3 convenience stores on that route.
For the longer days I usually ride to Avant. It’s a 55 mile route.
Let me know if anyone would be interested in grouping up for either of those
rides.
Here is a link to the Skiatook route:

Duane,
Thank you very much for the “Let’s Ride” email and keeping us abreast of
ride events– time just flies and here we are in CYCLING SEASON – yea. There
are so many wonderful places to ride and it is hard to choose between the
rides when they are on the same night, so we will move the Claremore Ride to
Tuesday nights to help un-layer the choices. Each Tuesday night the ride
group will determine the rides distances and routes so come out and discover
the many wonderful ride options around Claremore.
Though this is short notice, tomorrow is suppose to be 66 degrees and we
have till 7:40pm to ride so let’s take advantage of the weather and kick off
the ride season.
Ride Time: 5:30pm
Location: Bike-About Bicycle Store, 301 West Will Rogers Blvd, Claremore Ok.
Happy Trails
Janice

Welcome to Daylight Saving Time, that means that it is cycling season! The
Wednesday Night Ride will start again this week. In April the Monday Night
ride from the Department of Transportation will be starting too. Some
cyclists have expressed an interest in starting other weekly rides. An
alternate Wednesday Night Ride from Claremore is being discussed and a ride
from Washington Irving Park on Memorial in Bixby is a possibility also.
Please let me know if you are interested in a Bixby ride. There are some
very nice roads south of Bixby that have been repaved within the last year
or two. Washington Irving Park is a great place to park and begin a ride.
It is on the north bank of the Arkansas River and has access to the trail
that goes into Bixby and from there many nice low traffic roads are
available for rides of any length. The Tulsa Bicycle Club ride maps include
many good options that start at Washington Irving Park. Check out the maps

cleclub.com/locindv.php?locgrp=BIX
If you want us to start a weekly Bixby ride let me know and tell me what
evening and time works best for you.
If you want more details on any of the local rides just send me an email and
I'll try to answer your questions.
Have fun riding!
