I got teh following email via the OBS yahoo list.

The Oklahoma Bicycling Coalition will hold a special
meeting on March 2, 2008 at 1 PM to nominate and elect
new officers and directors for the board.

The meeting will be held at:
Parks and Recreation
315 E 9th
Stillwater, OK.

Everyone who was a full member of the OBC for the
years 2006, 2007 or 2008 will receive a packet by mail
containing a letter from the Acting President, a
membership form, and a nomination form.

Full members from those years can nominate themselves
or someone else for an office. They will be allowed to
vote at the meeting.

The only requirement is that nominees be full 2008
members to assume office. Member dues may be paid by
mail or at the meeting prior to the call to order. If
for any reason members who have paid 2008 dues are not
satisfied with the results of the election their
membership may be withdrawn and dues will be refunded.
We hope that won't be the case.

Please mail nomination forms and membership dues to:
OBC Board
c/o Cooper's Bicycle Center
220 South Main Street
Stillwater, OK 74074

Please do not use the PO Box address for nominations
and memberships. To do so will delay your submission.

The Oklahoma Bicycle Coalition is at a critical point
in its existence. There are many causes, reasons and
accusations for this crisis. It is not the intent of
the Acting Board to inflame the issue. Rather the
Board is turning to the general membership to find the
solution. The first order of business will be to elect
new officers and directors. The entire board's term
expired at the end of 2007 with no elections. It is
the members who must shape and define the future role
of the OBC.

The Agenda for the meeting and the nomination form are
posted on the official OBC website www.okbike.org in
case your address has changed or you don't receive the
nomination packet by mail.

I hope you will be able to come to the meeting,
volunteer for a leadership role, and help revitalize
the Oklahoma Bicycling Coalition.

Sincerely,
Pete Kramer
405 Representative 2006/2007

ps: I do not have access to many of the bicycling
lists in Oklahoma. This notice has been sent to
NewOBC, OBS, OEF, OK Bicycle Living, and
TeamBikeBuddies. Please forward to additional lists to
which you subscribe.
