Although I completely agree this article lacks any humor what so ever and is the tackiest thing I've read in a while I feel the need to defend the guy some what.  As bicyclists who continuely use the public streets I know without a doubt we've all heard the "get on the sidewalk" yell and I was even invited once to be a cabinent member (for a guy who claims to be running for president in the future,) when after riding my bike to a local bar got yelled at harshly by a gentleman who felt passionatly that bicyclists had no right on the road and just smiled, acknowldeged his coment and went right back to my own business (who has the time to actually defend themselves that often!!)

That being said.....I don't know many cyclists that continuously follow the laws of the road.  This is a topic that I've been really into lately too because when I ride by myself, or with the 2 or three folks I continuously ride with we obey each and every traffic signal and stop sign.  I may run a red light if after forever it doesn't change and it's apparent it's not going to but other that that we slow down, unclip, wait, then go when it is our turn.  Granted we don't break any speed limits by no means and we don't intend to so I can understand the frusteration when those who are riding for sport are irritated by having to stop so often.

I won't pretend I'm this 100% of the time, perfect law abiding cyclist because I'm not and I'm very suseseptable to the peer pressure of group rides...especially when I don't know where the heck I am, but I at least treat my commute to work with the upmost respect for traffic control and the drivers around me.  I hope to be an example to motorists that we can co-exist.

We all know the saying "same road, same rights, same rules"; and we all know that we could use some work on the same rules part.

This is what passes for funny these days:

Wasn't someone hurt this way recently? If anyone knows irritated tulsan,
give him hell.

Gosh, I'd like to meet this guy to give him a little more comedic impact.
