Message-ID: The Annual Lasagna Ride and Swap Meet is scheduled for March 3rd. We will ride 25-30 miles to stretch our legs and our appetites. Then upon returning to the start we will be treated to wonderful Lasagna meals! Lasagna, tea, and coffee will be provided. Please bring a salad or dessert to share. The ride starts at 9:00 am from the Memorial Community Center at 8310 E. 15th Street. Also, bring any unwanted parts, apparel or bicycling related stuff and participate in our swap meet that always coincides with this ride! Very important: RSVP for this event! Last year we had so many people show up who were non-RSVPs that we did not have enough food for everyone! 1. We will need to know two things: Are you coming and what food item are you bringing? 2. Do you need table space for the swap meet? Our tri club produces the Chris Brown Tulsa Duathlon and he liked Cheetahs so we put a small one somewhere on the race shirt every year. If the club wanted to shorten the name or not include her name every year in its race name, then at least the small icon would carry her memory on each year. As total sport enthusiasts, this site will cater to your interests as well as knowledge. The site will be known as www.athleteinyou.com. Areas of focus are going to evolve around training advice, medical advice (one of the founding members is a physician and USAT coach), athlete discounts from local and national retailers, race calendars, nationwide network for medical/training/coaching assistance, developing athlete profiles as a source to share with other members or become recognized by agents/recruiters, member and non-member sites, and more. Everyone is being encouraged to get on the site and post their ?sports-bio? for free. It is our hope to be involved on every level of sport and to eventually give back to communities where we all reside. We will also be working to set up partnership with the United States Olympic Committee to assist in athlete development/sponsorship assistance, etc. Finally, it is our intention to begin sponsoring athletes for team and individual sports. Currently, Bobby Julich (prof. cyclist with Team CSC, Tour de France podium finisher, and Olympic medallist) will provide cycling content. Jimmy Riccitello (prof. triathlete) will head the triathlon portion of the site. Summer Sanders (Olympic medalist, T.V. sports celebrity) will take over for swimming. Erik Schlopy ( 3 time Olympiad) will provide information to all the skiers. We have a team of 6 Kenyan runners being coached by Eddy Hellebuyck (Olympic marathoner). Greg Vaughn (prof. baseball) will be in charge of baseball. There will be more professionals in all athletic fields coming soon. Eventually, our athletes will be doing ?live forums? and ?blogging? from recognized sporting events (Tour De France, Ironman events, World Series, Superbowl, etc.). By participating in sports that require great focus and training, we believe that your members will have an interest in being a part of Athlete in You. Please send this message along with this exciting offer to your club members. Our annual fee of $25 will entitle full membership benefits that will include participating in the blogging and forums with our professional athletes as well as receiving numerous discounts from retailers across the country and communicating with other athletes across the country and eventually in other countries. For $8.95 individuals can develop a more comprehensive sports bio and have it listed for the purpose of getting recognized through our recruiting network. Membership is very important and the constant basis to grow and continue to offer more to all of you. Your support is very much appreciated. Should you have any questions, you may contact Patrick Riordan (775) 224-4768 or Dr. Ted Rasoumoff, M.D. (520) 991-1674. Is the route to Mohawk from Edison/Gilcrease safe as far as traffic and other hazards? I have the route from Mohawk to Claremore firmly in my mind but do not recall ever riding to Mohawk from SS. I need to figure out a fairly straightforward (not too meandering), yet safe, approx 5-hour training ride April 1 that also allows me to hook up with some other cyclists in Claremore by 1 pm. 2-3 hours to Claremore then back. BTW I trust that riding east on Hwy 20 from Skiatook is not too safe, or else I would approach Claremore from the west: Rock Road to Skiatook Lake area then east to Claremore.. How crazy is Hwy 20?
