If we going to have the Wednesday nite ride, we probably need to move the starting place. I vote that we move the start to 96th & Riverside either at the Park, of the shopping center parking lot across the street. Now don't everybody reply all at once. The ride starts at 9:00 am and leaves from Turner Park located at E 4th Pl and Jamestown Ave. This will be a simple ride of 11.5 miles in accordance with past years. A map will be provided at the start and the route is lightly marked in yellow. Stay around Turner Park after the ride for food and fun. Watermelon will be provided. Please bring a non-alcoholic drink or some other fruit or snack to share. Park restrooms will be open after 12:00 noon. Phone me at 665-6472 or email me at rideczar@cox.net if you have any questions. This is the General Club Meeting for July. Meet at the grassy area at west end of Avery as usual. Wear sturdy shoes. Roadside vegetation maybe high, so jeans may be in order. Bug spray likely needed. Club provides the trash sticks, bags, gloves, and orange reflective gear. * The Tulsa Wheelmen will be joining us again. * Door prizes: $20 gift certificate from Road ID (to tie in with the first aid speaker at last month's general membership meeting). Plus the usual fun small goodies for giveaway. * AND of course the Travelin' Trophy needs to be passed along to the next poor soul. Sharon Henry has it all ready to go with some new additional decorations! * After cleaning up, you'll have an opportunity to ride, or stop by my house nearby for a bike-cleaning party. BYOB. I will provide bike cleaning paraphernalia. We'll decide the route once we have an idea of numbers wanting to ride from both clubs. BOTH RIDERS AND BIKE CLEANERS NEED TO MEET AT MY HOUSE AFTER TRASH CLEAN-UP. Ride will depart from my house. * I am recovering from a hand injury from a bike wreck so may not ride. * I live at 13604 W 43rd Pl in Sand Sprigs. That is the subdivision on W 41st street at 137th W Ave. I live in the cul-de-sac of the second street, in a large farmhouse with split rail fence, wide porch. 245-9285, 625-5200 Hope to see as many of you as we can out there on Saturday. We want to outnumber the Wheelmen, right?! Carolyn -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Message-ID: Randall Clayborn, accomplished mountain biker and owner/operator of Bartlesville's Adventure Bicycle Center, will be on hand to share his knowledge with us at this month's gathering of the Tulsa Bicycle Club (TBC). Randall started out riding with TBC when he first moved to this area. He does mountain biking (MTB) clinics from time to time and sponsors local mountain biking events as well. Topics Randall will share include: local MTB events open to anyone, the benefits of MTB training and handling as compared to road riding, resources for mountain bikers, and culture differences from other cycling groups. He'll also have a sampling of different mountain bikes with him for comparison. Whether you've been thinking about getting a mountain bike or would just like to know more about trail riders, this program will be informative and entertaining. The meeting will be at the Martin Regional Library, 26th and Garnett, this Thursday, August 2nd, beginning at 7pm. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
